Menards Tool Demos

A new Menards store opened in my hometown, so my brother-in-law checked it out when I was home. It’s a huge store, but the most shocking thing was this power tool display/demo. They actually had electric circular saws, reciprocating saws, jig saws, drills, hammers, screws, nails, 2×4′s etc., right out for anyone to walk up and play with. We cut some chunks out of the 2x4s and screwed them together, but there didn’t seem to be anything keeping us from cutting off our hands or slashing a passing customer. You don’t usually see this sort of thing in America – people being given the opportunity to be responsible and careful.

My brother had this when I visited my parents over the holidays. He works for Menards and I guess each year they give out these sort of bonus ornaments. It’s really nicely made and looks all around sweet.
